I'm in my third year as a member of the Board of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and every year the big fund raiser is Puttin' On the Leash. This year the theme is "The Great Catsby", building on last year's "The Streets of Pawris" and 2008's "The pirates of Petzance". Puttin' On the Leash 2010 is this coming Saturday April 24th at 6:00pm.
In an effort to 'help do my part', Lura talked me into another Dog a couple weeks ago. She had been trolling the HSBV web site for some time looking for a small dog to join, Chip and Scout our two yellow labs.
As always Puttin' On the Leash is held at the Coors Event Center on the CU Campus in Boulder.
Basically, you get there and walk around and try food, wine and beer from over 20 local Boulder restaurants and silent bid on over 500 great donated products and services from local merchants. Toward the latter half of the evening there is a live auction with some really cool vacations and other goods and services. It's a great way to spend the evening and there are lots of dogs from the HSBV walking around meeting and greeting! You will see people wearing shorts, tuxes, and costumes so just jump in the car and shoot down and have a good time. I'm flying in from out of town on Saturday, just in time to make it for the live auction. Hope to see you there!
