SXSW Day 2 – Dude, I’m tired
The day started early…err, 10:30 with Dave McClure's panel, Startup Metrics for Pirates: AARRR!.. As you can see we were….pirates.
I have to say it was really fun and it was an honor to be in the mix with the other guys. I have been a fan of Dogster for a long time.. Dave was great, I will be on his panel anytime I'm invited. Lot's of great questions from the larger than expected (by me) audience. Special thanks to Tara for the photo, I think the red pirate hat (with the gold earring works for me).
After talking to a few people on the way, Brian Makare and I hit the IronWorks BBQ - which was excellent.
Stopping by the BlogHaus for a few minutes (it was 100 degrees in there) I shot back to the hotel to chill for an hour.
Then.. off to the Blog Network Event at Cantina Laredo put on by Jeremy Wright and the b5media guys. I got the opportunity to talk up Lijit to a group of people that really get it. It was a great event and I learned a little from the real innovators in the space of blog networks. Jeremy runs a great ship with people clearly passionate about their company. I eat that stuff up.
On the way back to the hotel I hooked up with my Boulder homeboys and had some excellent Austin Martini/Margaritas at Manuels, an Austin institution (I'm told). It was, hands down the best food I had in Austin. A must go..
Finally, finally…..on the way back to the hotel I ran into Micah at some club that was apparently being towed away by a flatbed truck…
I have to say I was totally blown away by both Micah and Tara on this trip.. They really brought it and made Lijit look great and get some great coverage. It's easy to be the CEO with these guys pushing the message endlessly. Way to go guys.
On the airplane early tomorrow….ahhh
